The K-State Web Authors Group (KWAG, pronounced "kay-wag") is a university-wide, professional organization for K-State web authors including staff, faculty, and students.


The purpose of this group is to provide a forum for helping web authors in their varied responsibilities, including

  • Sharing information and resources for both beginners and professionals
  • Compiling resources on a website and in a reserve section of Hale Library
  • Offering professional development by bringing speakers to K-State, building resumes, and encouraging members to pursue accreditation
  • Clarifying our roles at K-State for ourselves and our employers
  • Offering special interest groups (SIGs) on graphics, content/layout, FrontPage/Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS, coding, and beginner topics

KWAG on IRC / Live Online Chat

The KWAG IRC channel to serves as a way for people to come and talk about anything web development related and get help or information in real-time. This includes topics such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Python, Java, Perl, Postgresql, Javascript, web standards, etc.
