On August 22 and 23, 2009 the University Honors Program held its fourth annual Fall Retreat at Rock Springs. Forty seven freshman honors students joined Dr. Kiefer and four upperclass assistants (Jordan Grosskurth, Sarah Rajewski, Trent Thurston, and Blake Leonard) for this event. The retreat began at 3:00 Saturday afternoon and ended on Sunday afternoon. The theme of the retreat was "24 Hours" and, as the description of the television show suggests, we filled one circadian cycle to see how much an Honors student could learn about themselves, their fellow honors students, and college life. The event was a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with other honors students, learn about the University Honors Program and discuss strategies to prepare for success at the university level.
