Minutes - March 2, 2004

The meeting was called to order in 274 Rathbone Hall by President Mike Spottswood, KCØIWH at 7:05 P.M.

Mike, KCØIWH, David, KAØJPM, Allen, WF5U and Mark, KCØQAS were present.

The WØQQQ license will expire on August 24, 2004. We are unable to take action yet, as the FCC only allows renewals within 90 days of expiration. We're keeping this in the minutes until then as a reminder to ourselves.

The QSL card supply is very low (under 100). Various designs and features were discussed. A motion was made and seconded to use a design similar to the current design, with updated information. The motion passed. Local printing options (including K-State Printing Services) will be investigated. The number of cards ordered will depend upon the quantity price break.

Pres. Mike Spottswood showed the members a Tiny Trak 3 radio-GPS interface which he recently constructed. It is a product of www.byonics.com. According to the web site, it's "a small and inexpensive GPS position encoder which replaces the need for a packet TNC in an APRS tracker." I knew that.

The meeting ended at 8:25 P.M.

David Yoder, KAØJPM
secretary-treasurer
