Minutes - October 20, 1998


The meeting was called to order at 7:06 P.M. in Rathbone Hall 274 by Secretary-Treasurer David Yoder, KAØJPM.

The minutes from the Oct. 6 meeting were read.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

It was reported that income from the Oct. 10 auction totaled $349. The club thanked the members of MAARS who did much to make the auction possible, including Phyllis Dillman, Nadine Stueve, Henry Bachman, Norm Dillman and Lenore Layman.

A plan was made to move the pop machine on Oct. 21.

NEW BUSINESS

Norm Dillman, NØJCC announced a hamfest scheduled for Saturday, somewhere in Grandview, Mo.

Norm Dillman mentioned that the club might receive a scope cart from one of the departments.

The club discussed the annual Kansas Amateur Repeater Council dues ($15 per repeater), and voted to pay the amount.

Norm Dillman announced plans for a MAARS club station to be located in the Red Cross building downtown. Equipment has already been committed by local amateurs, including HF, dual band VHF/UHF and packet radio.

There was discussion on possibly acquiring various tools and equipment for the Weapons Room. Items suggested included: electrical tape, masking tape, terminal crimpers, soldering iron, flashlight, 10-meter tape measure, jeweler's screwdrivers, hammer, pliers, nutdriver set, English socket wrench set, diagonal cutters, needle nose pliers and wire strippers.

A motion was made and passed for the secretary-treasurer to spend up to $58 for a set of padlocks, small tool boxes, socket wrenches, screwdriver set, tape and pliers.

Norm Dillman volunteered to check at the upcoming hamfest for some of the items listed above.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:51 P.M.
