Modify an Existing Group
A group is a static list (watch list) of advisees that can be tracked over time. A group can be modified after it has been created. See also Create a Group.
Members of the group will be displayed until:
- they are removed from the group.
- they are no longer assigned to you as an advisee.
- you remove them from your list of added advisees.
To Manage Advisee Membership in an Existing Group:
- Login to KSIS with your eID and password at https://ksis.k-state.edu.
- Select the KSU Advisor Center from the KSIS Links on the right side of the KSIS home page.
- The My Advisees list is displayed.
- To Add Advisees to an Existing Group
- Select the advisee(s) to add to the group by doing one of the following:
- Use Deselect All or Select All to change selected advisees.
- Click the check box for an advisee to manually select or deselect them.
- Use filter criteria to select a group of students, then select Run Filter. All advisees that match the criteria are displayed and selected.
- Add the selected advisees to the existing group by doing the following:
- Select the group name from the drop-down menu next to Add to Group.
- Click Yes to confirm you want to add the selected advisees to the group.
- The added advisees appear when the filter is selected.
- Select the group name from the drop-down menu next to Add to Group.
- Select the advisee(s) to add to the group by doing one of the following:
- To Remove Advisees from a Group
- Locate the bar titled Manage Advisee Groups & Filters above the My Advisees list.
- Click to expand the Manage Advisee Groups & Filters options.
- Click the Group for which you want to change membership in the My Groups area.
- The My Advisee list changes, showing only members of the Group.
- All members are selected by default.
- The Group name is populated in the Name field.
- Uncheck any member you want to remove from the Group.
- Selected advisees are kept in the Group.
- Deselected advisees are removed from the Group.
- Click Update Group.
- Click Yes to confirm the update. Next time the Group is selected, the updated members are displayed.
- Click the in front Manage Advisee Groups & Filters to collapse the area if desired.
- Locate the bar titled Manage Advisee Groups & Filters above the My Advisees list.
- After adding or removing members from a group:
- The My Advisee list changes, showing only members of the Group.
- All members are selected by default.
- The Group name is populated in the Name field.
Notes
- Filters and groups work on the list of advisees shown in the My Advisees list.
- It is possible to remove all members from a group.
- This results in an empty My Advisee list.
- Select another filter or group to update advisees displayed.
- The ALL filter displays all advisees.
