Call for applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Duffy student travel grant, Otto Tiemeier-Frank Cross Student Scholarship, and Klaassen Award. These are awarded to students to help cover travel costs to the annual KS Chapter and North Central Division meetings. Application details.

2010 Kansas Natural Resources Conference

Dates: February 4-5, 2010
Location: Wichita Airport Hilton

This years theme is Kansas Waters – Signs of Prosperity and Health. Speakers for the plenary session will include:

    • Tracey Streeter, Executive Director, Kansas Water Office
    • Jason Goeckler, Aquatic Nuisance Specialist, KDWP
    • Andy Ziegler, Associate Director & Water Quality Specialist, U.S. Geological Survey
    • David Barfield, Chief Engineer, Kansas Division of Water Resources

We encourage each and every one of you to submit a paper or poster for the conference or encourage a colleague to submit. We especially encourage presentations related to Kansas water resources such as the management and impact of streams, reservoirs, and aquifers; however, any and all natural resource topics will be considered.
Deadline for abstract submission: December 4, 2009

We are offering some new things for students:
    • Scholarships will be awarded to the first 25 students who submit papers and present those twice at the conference
    • We will also have a job fair from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 4.
