Dr. Craig Paukert is the Acting Unit Leader and Assistant Professor in the Division of Biology. He received his Ph.D. from South Dakota State University in 2001. Craig has been at the Kansas Unit since 2003. His research interest are applied fisheries science, population ecology, fisheries management, geographic information systems, and applied statistics.

Dr. Jack Cully, Jr. is the Assistant Leader-Wildlife and Associate Professor in the Division of Biology. He received his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1984. He has been at the Kansas Unit since 1994. His research interest are population and community ecology of birds and mammals, threatened and endangered species, and ecology of vertebrate disease systems.

Dr. Don Althoff is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Biology and Certified Wildlife Biologist. He received his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 1983. He has been associated with the Unit since 2000. His research interests include wildlife-habitat relationships, evaluating techniques for monitoring long-term land condition trend, and conservation of upland wildlife.

Dr. Joanna Whittier is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Biology. She received her Ph.D. in 2001 from Oklahoma State University. She has been with the Kansas Unit since 2003. Her primary research interest include endangered species management, conservation genetics, and GIS.

Kevin Blecha is a Research Assistant
in the Division of Biology. He recieved his B.S. in Biology in 2006,
and has worked for the Coop unit since 2005. Duties include coordination
of field/lab work on a variety of projects. His primary research interest
include occupancy of terrestrial wildlife populations, evaluation of
research techniques, and grassland ecosystem dynamics.
