Kansas Campus Compact Awards
Students, faculty, and community members all deserve to be recognized for their contributions to bettering their
communities. KsCC is currently developing state awards to recognize the outstanding public service achievements of
students, faculty, staff, and community partners in Kansas. Please check back for more information.
Thomas Ehrlich Award
The national Campus Compact recognizes and honors one faculty member each year for contributing to the integration
of community or public service into the curriculum and for efforts to institutionalize service-learning. The award is
named in honor of Thomas Ehrlich, past chair of the Campus Compact executive committee, President Emeritus of Indiana
University, and currently a senior scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. One award of $2,000
will be granted to a faculty member from a Campus Compact member institution.

Howard R. Swearer Award
Each year, five students are recognized by national Campus compact for their outstanding public service through
the Swearer Humanitarian Award. Member presidents are invited to nominate one student for this prestigious award.
Award recipients receive $1,500 to help strengthen or sustain the service program of their design or choice.
