Host a KsCC VISTA Program
Applications for 2009-2010 have closed. Thank you for your interest!
For more information, and to apply as a host-campus, please read the following:
2009-2010 VISTA Host Site Application (Applications for 2009-2010 are closed)
Please note the following important elements:
1) Host sites will need to be rotated. If you are currently a host site and have completed your third year of a VISTA project, you will need to provide a dramatically different project plan than the one you are completing. If you are currently a host site in your 1st or 2nd year, your project may be continued as is, or with some minor modifications as discussed with Steve and myself. Or you may choose to re-start your 3 year cycle with the new KsCC project plan.
2) The two goals of the new overall KsCC plan will be a) increasing access and success for low-income and first-generation college students, including non-traditional students, and b) strengthening and building campus-community partnerships. These two prongs will provide room for use of civic engagement tools (including but not limited to service learning and other volunteer and community-service activities) to address the looming demands of a recession and the impact it will have on campuses and in the communities.
3) The required cost share will go up to $5,000/VISTA/year.
4) You will need to consult with your VISTA Advisory Group and solicit their comments on your application.
