Service-Learning Young Professionals Network
Dear Service-Learning Young Professional,
The National Service-Learning Partnership has officially launched the Service-Learning Young Professionals Network (SLYPN). We need your leadership and expertise. We know you have a strong commitment to service-learning and think you have a lot to gain and offer as a member of SLYPN.
SLYPN was created to provide young professionals (age 20-30-somethings) opportunities to develop the skills and capacity they need to pursue their interests and advance their careers in service-learning. SLYPN responds to the needs of young service-learning professionals by providing unprecedented access to seasoned leaders and service-learning pioneers as well as other resources and opportunities designed especially for young leaders like us.
Supporting young professionals is of incredible importance for our field. Service-learning organizations, like many in the nonprofit sector, are facing a pivotal moment of development; current leaders are preparing to retire or step down from leadership positions and young professionals are stepping into those positions. We must ensure young professionals have the skills and knowledge to succeed at these new roles and organizations have the capacity to transition to new leadership. SLYPN will help us achieve these goals by offering young professionals the resources, tools, information and connections they need to reach success.
SLYPN membership is absolutely free and only takes a few moments of your time. We urge you to log on to SLYPN's website at www.slyoungprofessionals.org to learn more about the benefits of this great network.
Sincerely,
Shannon Malone
