The Delta Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma

The Tau Beta Sigma Delta Kappa Chapter currently has 44 members. Officers for the 2011-2012 school year are as follows:

Mission Statement

We provide exceptional service to collegiate bands and promote equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession. We cultivate leadership, educational achievement, music appreciation and community development.

What we did this year

Tau Beta Sigma has had an amazing school year! Unique projects and events include:
-Updating Ritual Equipment
-Learning to make earrings and selling them as a fundraiser
-Improving Continuing Education in our meetings
-Learning the Affirmation and being able to sing it from memory
-A Chocolate Dessert Night as a Recruitment Event
-Writing individual letters to students our chapter thinks would make great TBS members.
-Nominating members of our chapter for awards. This year a new member, Emily Henderson, was awarded “Outstanding New Sister Award” at the Midwest District Convention. In addition, our Director of Bands and sponsor, Dr. Frank Tracz, was awarded the national “Paula Crider Award”.
