The CHI Health Behavior Laboratory supports research and evaluation targeting healthful eating and physical activity. The 750 square foot laboratory performs data input, data management, and data analysis functions and has played a central role in active extramural grants and contracts funded by the following health agencies: National Institutes of Health, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Kansas Health Foundation, Sunflower Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, United Methodist Health Ministry Fund, and U.S.D.A. In order to assist with data collection, the Lab has several measurement (accelerometers, pedometers), data processing (high speed optical scanner and Teleform survey software), and data analysis (SAS, SPSS, HML, EQS) tools. The laboratory includes several workstations, a data input workstation, meeting area, and secure data storage room. CHI is also supported by the K-State motor pool for community-based data collection and intervention.
