Kappa Kappa Gamma is known for its long “Tradition of Leadership,” and here at Gamma Alpha, the women continue that tradition inside and outside the classroom. Our young women are involved in a diverse spectrum of extracurricular activities and are pursuing a variety of majors. Our high academic standards continually challenge and motivate Kappas during college and in preparation for their futures after graduation. The many philanthropies in Manhattan and within Kappa allow our members to give back to the community that supports them during their time at K-State. Our members work together to create campus and local environments where we can assist each other through our life endeavors.
Even though Gamma Alpha chapter members maintain high standards in college life, I believe knowledge of the world and our lives during this time is not gained only in a classroom. Many of the lessons I have learned while attending K-State occurred within the walls of the house at 517 Fairchild Terrace. In the past couple of years, I have learned to listen, to understand and to love more friends than I could have imagined in a lifetime.
We each have our own ways of brushing our teeth, napping, watching movies, snacking and studying, and our own schedules cause us to move in every direction. However, K-State Kappas find a way to coexist and thoroughly enjoy our time together. Whether we are moving in, worrying about a test, crying or laughing, we are there to support each other. I believe each and every Kappa has traits to contribute to the group that intensify the bond that holds us together.
Please enjoy our Web site, and I hope you discover more about Kappa Kappa Gamma and our college life at the Gamma Alpha chapter at K-State.
I believe we all find great strength in the support of others, and great friendships can only be understood by experiencing them, so I will leave you with this thought on friendship from someone who was a great friend and composer many years long ago. I think he best expresses the special relationship friends share at Kappa Kappa Gamma.
