Project timeline
The following is the estimated project timeline for the K-State implementation of Zimbra:
- June 2010: Zimbra Calendar becomes the official K-State calendar
- April - May 2010: Open enrollment for new calendar objects
- April 19 - 25, 2010: Migration to the Merit Network
- Preparation for transitions (setting up access rights, populating schedules)
- Training and orienting staff as to departmental setups
- Overlap period - 2 calendars
- February- March 2010: Open forum and training sessions on calendar usage
- New documentation on calendaring available
- Late March 2010: Oracle calendar objects implemented in Zimbra
- December 2009 - February 2010: Planning sessions with departments on Oracle calendar objects.
- Fall 2009 semester: Implementation planning for Zimbra calendaring
- May 31, 2009: New system available to all K-Staters
- May 29 - 31, 2009: Zimbra e-mail migration
- November 2008 - May 2009: Pilot testing
- October 2008: In-depth testing by ITS
- April - August 2008: Implementation planning
