How do I get the network security key for K-State's wireless network?
K-State's wireless network is password protected and limited to K-State's students, faculty, and staff. Get the network security key, also called the network password, passphrase, and WEB key, by signing in with your eID and password.
What is wireless networking?
Wireless networking is a method of connecting devices to a Local Area Network (LAN) via a low-power radio frequency signal instead of a wired, plugged-in connection.
How do I get started using K-State's wireless network?
  • Have a laptop computer or personal digital assistant capable of connecting to a WiFi network.
  • Find an area where the wireless network is available. See the wireless locations at K-State.
  • Use the network security key (password) to connect. Your K-State eID and password to needed to access the key.
Where can I access the wireless network on campus?
Most of campus is covered. See K-State wireless locations for details.
Why can I only access K-State websites from the computer in my residence hall room or apartment?
You probably need to register your computer for K-State network access. If you live in the Residence Halls or Jardine Apartments, you must register your computer to gain full access to the K-State network and view pages outside of K-State.edu.
How can I use my PDA, Smartphone, iPhone or iPod touch if I live in the Residence Halls?
To use your device on the K-State network, you must register it.
