Mac OS X VPN Client Installation

To install the Cisco VPN client for Mac OS X (version 10.4.0 and later), follow the steps below. You will need your eID and password to download the installation files. If you need the VPN client for PowerPC Macs, click here.

  1. Download the installation file:
    VPN Client for Intel Macs
  2. If your browser prompts you to Save or Open, click the "Save" button.
  3. Go to the location of your downloaded file and double-click to expand the .dmg file.
  4. Open the expanded file (for example vpn-2.5.2019).

  5. Double-click vpn.pkg.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions for installation with the default options.
  7. Click “Close”.
  8. You will now have a Cisco folder within your Applications folder.
  9. Open the Cisco folder within Applications and double-click on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client.
  10. You will be prompted to enter a secure gateway.
  11. Enter vpn.net.k-state.edu into the “Connect to” field and click “Select.”
  12. Enter your eID and password, and click "Connect".
    • The .KStateVPN group should be used when connecting from home or another trusted location.
    • The .KStateVPNFull_Tunnel group should be used when connecting from public Internet spots with no security like airports, coffee shops, or hotel Internet connections.

You should now be connected to the K-State network.
