Media Development Center

The Media Development Center (MDC), 214 Hale Library, is a high-end computer lab for video editing, producing CDs & DVDs, scanning and editing images, developing webpages, creating audio recordings, & more. The Adaptive Technology Lab, located within the MDC, supports individuals with disabilities. K-Staters may use the MDC for non-commercial, academic purposes. Questions? Please call 785-532-7422.

Equipment reservations and checkout

Digital still cameras, digital video camcorders, and tripods may be checked out by faculty, students and staff, Monday through Friday in Room 214, Hale Library (IT Help Desk area). Call 532-4918 to reserve equipment.

Oversized scanner

The oversized scanner can be reserved by calling Jahvelle Rhone at 532-4445.

Color printing

Color copies may be printed in two sizes: 8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17" using your K-State Wildcat Card.

  • Black-and-white printing goes into one queue and can be retrieved at any printer in the labs and InfoCommons. Cost is 10 cents per page, and 18 cents two-sided (duplex).
  • Color printing is available in the K-State InfoCommons, the Media Development Center (Hale 213), and Weigel Library in Seaton Hall. Single-sided printing is the default. Cost is 35 cents per page, and 70 cents two-sided (duplex).
  • Black-and-white 11x17: 20 cents per page; 40 cents duplex
  • Color 11x17: 70 cents per page; $1.40 duplex
    • Regular Hours:
      Monday - Thursday: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
      Friday: 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
      Saturday: Noon -5 p.m.
      Sunday: 1 - 10 p.m.
