Duplex and single-sided printing

Double-sided (duplex) printing is the default in the university computing labs and K-State InfoCommons. This page tells how to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using:


Microsoft Office 2010

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) in the university computing labs and K-State InfoCommons.

  1. Select File, then Print.
  2. For Single-Sided Printing, select Print One Sided from the drop-down menu under Settings. For Duplex Printing, select Print on Both Sides.
  3. Select Print.



Internet Explorer

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Internet Explorer web browser in the university computing labs and K-State InfoCommons.

  1. Select File, then Print.
  2. In the Print window, click the Preferences button on the right.
  3. In the Document Properties window, select the Printing Shortcuts tab.
  4. For Single-Sided printing, select Factory Defaults.



Mozilla Firefox

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Mozilla Firefox web browser in the university computing labs and K-State InfoCommons.

  1. Select File, then Print.
  2. In the Print window, click the Properties button at top right.
  3. In the Document Properties window, select the Printing Shortcuts tab.
  4. For Single-Sided printing, select Factory Defaults.



Google Chrome

Follow these steps to switch between duplex and single-sided printing when using the Google Chrome web browser in the university computing labs and K-State InfoCommons.

  1. Select File, then Print.
  2. Uncheck the box next to Two-sided to print on one page (check the box if you want duplex printing).
  3. Select Print.
