All K-State employees, students and those needing access to university computing systems are required to have an eID. Additionally, undergraduate students applying for the fall 2013 semester or later will be required to have an eID to submit an application.
Your eID is your K-State user name and is used to access saved applications, enroll in classes, accept financial aid, sign in to K-State e-mail, view online paychecks, and much more. You must be 13 or older to register.
If you attended as a student or were employed with K-State after Fall 2002, you should already have an eID and you should not register for another one. Please contact the IT Help Desk to reactivate your old eID and associate it with your new student status at K-State.
Note: If you provide an email address, you will receive an email confirming your newly registered eID.
If your WID or SSN matches your K-State records, then you will either be allowed to choose your eID or be prompted to contact the IT Help Desk, as you may already have an eID. You should not register for another eID if you currently have an eID or had one previously. If you are registering for a group eID, you should continue with the eID registration process and do not need to contact the IT Help Desk.
If you did not enter WID or SSN or if the WID or SSN you entered does not match K-State records, you will be prompted to provide additional information about yourself.
Note for new employees: If your WID or SSN does not match K-State records because your employment paperwork is not fully processed yet and you need access to K-State email or other university resources, finish registering for an eID and then contact your department's personnel specialist to be granted preliminary employee privileges.
On the Choose your eID page, you can choose one of the generated eIDs or choose Custom choice and type your own eID. Your eID must be 3-20 characters, start with a letter, be lower case, and must not contain special characters. Click the Continue button after you have selected or entered an eID.
Students: See Services for students for a listing of information technology resources available to you.
Employees: See Services for faculty and Services for staff for listings of resources available to you. If your employment paperwork was not fully processed at the time you registered for your eID, you may request preliminary privileges to receive early access to required K-State resources.
Visitors: See IT for Visitors for information about resources available to you.
