What you need to know
Dial-in Internet
Dial-in Internet service is available to current K-State faculty, staff, and students, as well as emeritus faculty. Many K-Staters utilize our dial-in services because high-speed Internet isn't available in their area, low monthly cost, or minimal need to access the Internet from home.
Requirements
- Your computer must have a speed of 233 Mhz or higher and 128 megabytes of RAM.
- Your modem speed must be between 9600bps and 56k. The speed of all Computing and Telecommunications Services's modems are 56K V.92.
- You must have a current antivirus program. If a virus, malware, or spyware is detected on your computer your dial-in access will be terminated without notice.
- Your computer must be current with all necessary operating system patches.
- You cannot perform port scanning.
Non-compliance with any of the requirements will result in your dial-in access being terminated without access.

K-State does not allow computers utilizing the following operating systems to access the K-State Network: Windows 3.1, 95, NT, 98, 98 Second Edition, or ME.
