Scholarships for International K-State Students
Costa Rican Scholarship Fund
For a student from Costa Rica studying at K-State who is properly enrolled in any
curriculum at Kansas State University and comes from the University of Costa Rica
or the Technological Institute of Costa Rica. Selection will be based on financial
need.
Philip and Jeune Kirmser International Student Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will be a non-resident undergraduate student properly enrolled in any curriculum at Kansas State University with financial need. First preference will be a student of African origin and be able to provide proof of citizenship from any country on the continent of Africa. Applicants will complete the K-State International Coordinating Council Scholarship form and submit the form to the International Student Center. This scholarship will be available for the Spring 2014 semester.
The Friends of International Programs Scholarship
Friends of International provide one $750 scholarship annually each Fall to an outstanding international undergraduate student who has successfully completed at least one semester at K-State and who will be returning for the next school year. The successful applicant is selected from among students who apply for the International Student Center Scholarship. Applicants must be a full time undergraduate student at K-State, cannot have received this scholarship the previous year, and must be in the U.S. on a nonimmigrant visa. Selection is made by evaluating essays about how you will benefit from this award and a description of campus/community involvement. Applicants will complete the K-State International Coordinating Council Scholarship form and submit the form to the International Student Center. International Coordinating Council Scholarship
The Educational Opportunity Fund aims to provide financial assistance to underrepresented
populations. Eight scholarships of $700, awarded through the International Coordinating
Council are being offered to all international students. You must be a full time graduate
or undergraduate student at Kansas State University. You must not have received this
scholarship during the previous academic year. You must be in the U.S. on a nonimmigrant
visa. You must have been enrolled at KSU in the Fall 2012 semester or before. You
must not be currently receiving any scholarship assistance from K-State. You must
be continuing as a student in the Fall 2013 semester, since the scholarship money
will not be available until that time. Applicants will complete the K-State International
Coordinating Council Scholarship form and submit the form to the International Student

Joe Tiao International Student Scholarship
For a degree or non-degree student from Taiwan, properly enrolled in any curriculum
at Kansas State University, with preference given to graduate students or exchange
students. Financial need and academic potential will be considerations.
Philip and Jeune Kirmser AFS International Scholarship
This $600-$800 a year scholarship will be awarded to a former AFS international student
who attended a local or heartland area high school and is now properly enrolled in
any curriculum at Kansas State University and needs financial assistance. If you are

William L. Richter International Scholarship
$500 was established to honor Dr. Richter, the retired Associate Provost for International
Programs, and to provide financial assistance to International students properly enrolled
in any curriculum at K-State. Preference will be given to international students who
have financial need, and show academic potential. Selection will be made in the spring
of each year and funds are available for awarding to begin the following fall. Applicants
will complete the K-State International Coordinating Council Scholarship form and
submit the form to the International Student Center. Application deadline is Friday, March 15, 2013 at 5:00 PM. Download application.
