Basic Language Training (BLT)

The Basic Language Training Program is a series of non-credit language courses that are offered during both the fall and spring semesters.  Each class is taught by a native speaker and all of the instructors are international students currently enrolled at Kansas State. The student instructors teach the basics of their language and also explore the culture and history of their home country with their students. The classes occur over the course of six weeks and meet twice per week for an hour each session for a total of 12 classes.

The languages offered each semester vary and there is an enrollment fee of $25 per person for each 6 week course. Recent courses offered include Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese. The fall 2009 class schedule will be available online just after the start of the semester. Please check back for updated course information or, if you have questions about the Basic Language Program or if you wish to be considered as a course instructor, please contact Karl Anderson at (785) 532-6448 or at keanders@ksu.edu.
