December 2009 ISSS Newsletter

International Students, Scholars and Community!

ISSS is starting this newsletter in an effort to better communicate with all of you about what is going on in our office and among the international students and scholars here at Kansas State University. In the future, the newsletter will be updated monthly. To keep the newsletter interesting and relevant, I need your help. I would love to see submissions from individuals and from international student organizations. These submissions can highlight international events on campus, intercultural experiences you have had, or teach the rest of us something about your home country or city.

Also, in the coming months there will be an International Student Highlight section where we interview and write a piece about an international student here at K-State. Finding just one international student to interview out of over 1700 on campus is a daunting task, so I need your help! Please nominate someone you know who has been active in the community, excels in his or her department, or has a unique story to tell. If someone you know fits this description, send me the full name and a couple reasons you think that person would be a good student to write about.

Finally, this newsletter really needs a name better than “newsletter.” Please help me choose a creative title! Top submissions will be put up to a vote in January’s edition!
Article submissions, nominations, and name suggestions for this newsletter can all be sent to me at cokelley@ksu.edu.

Thanks!
Caitlin
