Event Room Rental

The Multipurpose Room in the International Student Center is available for rent based on availability of a building supervisor . Reservations for use of the Center must be made by a representative of the sponsoring organization who will serve as the liaison with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Consideration of each request is based upon the relationship of the proposed event to the ISSS's purpose and mission; the timing of the event in relation to other activities and events; the ability of staff and space to accommodate the group; and the suitability of the event with regard to the safety and security of the facility, its contents, and participants. Requests for a reservation must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Country flags are also available for events at reasonable rental rates. International Student Center Building Use Agreement


Reservations for use of the International Student Center (ISC) must be made by a representative of the sponsoring organization who will serve as the liaison with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Consideration of each request is based on the timing of the event in relation to other activities and events; the ability of staff to accommodate your request; and the suitability of the event with regard to the safety and security of the facility, it's contents and participants.

Regular business hours are:  Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Times requested outside of the regular business hours are subject to the availability of a building supervisor.

  1. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. A signed contract and deposit must be received in order to secure your reservation at least 3 days before the event. Cancellations must be filed at least 48 business hours in advance of the scheduled event. If you cancel later that 48 hours, any fees paid will be forfeited or you will receive an invoice for the total charges stated on the contract.
    Rental fees are as follows: 
    Rental Fee                             $15/hour 
    Cleaning Deposit:                   $25 
  2. Room rental arrangements can be made in-person through ISSS during regular business hours. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You must also complete the building use agreement form online by visiting our web site at http://www.k-state.edu/isss/ and clicking on Services and then ISC Room Rental.
  3. Any student or group wishing to reserve the multipurpose room past normal operating hours must make their request AT LEAST two (2) weeks in advance in order to have your request considered. Such requests are approved on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the availability of our night staff. The ISSS reserves the right to deny any such requests.
  4. Groups or individuals will not be refunded usage fees for unused time. In addition, a group or individual going over an allotted reservation time will be charged additional fees.
  5. All fees must be paid to the ISSS within 21 days of receipt of invoice. Failure to make payment will result in suspension of future building use privileges.
  6. A cleaning deposit is required for all users of the International Student Center in order to confirm your reservation. Cash deposits must be picked up from the ISSS within 21 days of receipt of invoice or the cash will be forfeited. Deposit checks must also be picked up within 21 days of receipt of invoice or they will be shredded. Failure to properly clean the areas used will result in forfeiture of deposit and possible suspension of future building use privileges. 
  7. You are required to check in and out with the building supervisor. The user (or a designated representative) must be present at all times. It must be clear to the building supervisor who is in charge of the organization's activity or event.
  8. Any student or group wishing to use the room for food events, food sales, or food festivals that will be open to the public must make their reservations at least three weeks in advance and must contact Dr.Ron Bridges (rondbrid@ksu.edu) in the University’s Environmental Health and Safety office as soon as possible to have their menu approved. Your reservation will not be guaranteed until after Dr. Bridges has approved your event. If the ISSS office does NOT have a copy of the approval at least 3 days in advance, your event will be automatically canceled.
  9. User is responsible for setting up any tables and chairs needed for the event and also for properly cleaning and storing them afterwards.
  10. No furniture may be removed or placed outside of the building.
  11. No decorations are allowed on the walls of the Multipurpose Room.
  12. No cooking is permitted. Stoves and ovens in the kitchen can only be used to keep food warm.
  13. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult from the group.  Failure to supervise children may result in suspension.
  14. Groups using the building are required to be cleaned up, checked out with the building supervisor and out of the building no later than 10:00 pm when the building closes. Failure to do this will result in forfeiture of deposit and may result in suspension of building use privileges.
  15. Kansas State University prohibits the consumption of alcohol, tobacco or controlled substances as well as the use of candles or any other items that produce smoke in both the building and on surrounding grounds.

Terms of agreement:

User agrees to assume full responsibility for any and all damages and/or misuse of the facility which may occur during the specified lease period.

User agrees to pay in full all damages, excess cleaning charges and/or other misuse fees determined to be the responsibility of the user, including any equipment use. Failure to make prompt payment of charges will result in suspension of future building use privileges.

Appeal of any additional fees must be presented to ISSS within 1 week of notification of the fee.

User agrees to release Kansas State University, its officers, employees and agents from all claims for any injury, bodily harm or property damage arising from use of the facility.
