
Dr. Reginald H. Painter, past professor of entomology at Kansas State University, is recognized as one of the world's founding authorities on plant resistance to arthropods. His book, Insect Resistance in Crop Plants, first published in 1951, was the original definitive textbook on the subject. Over 7,000 research publications from his collection, and additions from his former students, represent the foundation of this interdisciplinary endeavor.Additional personal papers of Dr.Painter are held in the Archives department of the library.
