The ISO participates with other university, college, division, and departmental IT units to support and serve students, employees, and administrators involved in the various stages of enterprise-wide information technology deployment including:
- Planning for strategic and tactical IT/IS initiatives and projects
- Development of IT/IS policies, standards and procedures
- Management of information resources/IT asset management
- Analysis of IS requirements
- Planning IS projects and providing project progress and status reports
- Specification and acquisition of hardware and software
- Installation, development, enhancement, maintenance, and on-going administration of software
- Establishment and administration of development, test, training and production databases and other data stores
- Integration and implementation of hardware and software systems
- Administration of security access
- Scheduling automated processes and monitoring production
- Performing routine backup and recovery procedures
- Planning for business contingencies and disaster recovery
- Provision of on-going user and production support
