| Academic Career | A Grouping of all academic work undertaken by a student grouped into a single statistical record. KSU uses Undergraduate, Graduate, and Veterinary Medicine careers. | |
| Academic Level | Class Standing | Classification of students based on the number of units completed toward their degree. 0-29 units = Freshman, 30-59 units = Sophomore, 60-89 units = Junior, 90+ units = Senior. |
| Academic Plan | Curriculum Major/Minor |
A course of study leading to a formal award given by an institution, such as a degree, diploma or certificate. For example, Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. |
| Academic Sub Plan | Option | The further specialization of an academic plan or major. Sub plans may include concentrations or specializations. |
| Academic Program | N/A | The academic entity to which the student applies and which oversees the degree progress of a particular Academic Plan. The Program is controlled by each College and is made up of a 4 or 5 character code. For example, ASUDG = College of Arts and Sciences (AS), Undergraduate (U), Degree-Seeking (DG) plans. See the iSIS Academic Program List (Excel spreadsheet) for a detailed explanation of all Academic Program codes. |
| Address Type | The possible addresses stored for a person. Address Types are: Home (Local), Billing, Mailing, Permanent, Shipping, and Degree/Diploma. | |
| Campus ID | WID | K-State issued student identifier. Also called, the Wildcat ID (WID). |
| Class | Section | An individual occurrence of a course during a given academic term. |
| Course | Class | Academic instruction offered as part of the K-State curriculum. |
| Enrollment Appointment | Timeframe in which a student may enroll in classes. This date determines the earliest date a student may enroll for a subsequent term. | |
| ID (Empl ID) | N/A | iSIS unique system identifier. NOTE: The iSIS Empl ID does not match the HRIS Empl ID. |
| National ID | SSN | National identification number issued by the US government. Social Security Number (SSN). NOTE: unknown SSNs are recorded as 999-99-9999. |
| Service Indicator | Hold | Service Indicators are used in iSIS to designate special attention is needed for a particular student. Service Indicators may be positive (honors, special recognition) or negative (holds, probation). |
| Term | Semester | Semester in which classes are offered. Terms are identified by a four-digit number where the first digit represents the century, the second and third digits represent the year, and the final digit represents the semester (2 for Spring, 4 for Summer, 5 for Fall). I.e. Fall 2008 = 2085, Spring 2009 = 2092. |
| Unit | Credit | Credit hours assigned to a course. The Units are accumulated as credit toward graduation, in figuring Grade Point Average, enrollment eligibility, academic level, etc. |
