Applying Service Indicators

 

Purpose

Use this procedure to apply a positive or negative Service Indicator to a student.

Trigger

Perform this procedure to apply a negative Service Indicator when a student has not fulfilled some requirement to perform certain actions (i.e., enroll in classes) or receive certain services (i.e. getting a transcript or diploma) or to apply a positive Service Indicator when a student has earned a special privilege or recognition within the system.

Prerequisites

·         User must have "Placement" security for the specified Service Indicator.

Procedure

1.       Campus Community  Service Indicators (Student)  Service Indicator Data

2.       At a minimum, complete the following required fields to find the appropriate record:

Field Name

Empl ID

iSIS unique system identifier.  NOTE:  The iSIS Empl ID does not match the HRIS Empl ID.

National ID

National identification number issued by the US government.  Social Security Number (SSN).  NOTE:  unknown SSNs are recorded as 999-99-9999.

Campus ID

K-State issued student identifier.  Also called, the Wildcat ID (WID).

Person's last name.

Example:         koster

Single term for which the Service Indicator is to be active.

    This field is required for Service Indicators applied by the Office of Admissions.

Active Date

Date the Service Indicator becomes effective.

    This will default to the current date.

Service Indicator Code

3-character codes representing the Service Indicator to be applied.

Example:         ADV

Service Ind Reason Code

5-character code indicating the reason within the Service Indicator is given.

Example:         ADV

Reference

Field to place policies that address the Service Indicator.

Amount

Amount of money as indicated on the form.

Example:         (left blank)

Currency

Denomination to be used for any cash amounts.  The default will be USD (US Dollars).

EmplID of the person the student should contact regarding questions about the Service Indicator.

System ID for the KSU department, office, or college that is responsible for the given record.
