Reviewing Scheduled Class Information

 

Purpose

Use this procedure to review or modify all sections of a course for a given term.

Trigger

Perform this procedure when you need to review or change items for one or more sections, including enrollment capacity, waitlist capacity, auto enroll information, etc.

Prerequisites

None

·         Course must be setup.

·         Class sections must be established for the term in question.

Procedure

1.       Curriculum Management  Schedule of Classes  Update Sections of a Class

2.       Find the desired course and term to review/modify.  In this exercise, we will review ACCTG 231 for the Spring 2007 term.

3.       As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field Name

R/O/C

Description

Class Type

R

Indication of whether the Class is the Enrollment (E) or a Non-Enrollment (N) Component.

Class Stat

R

Indication of whether the class is Active (A), Cancelled (C), Tentative (T), or Stop Further Enrollment (S).

Auto Enrl 1

O

Additional section in which a student should automatically be enrolled in.  This is indicated by using the Section Number of the associated component.

Auto Enrl 2

O

Additional section in which a student should automatically be enrolled in.  This is indicated by using the Section Number of the associated component.

Resection

O

This field is not being used by K-State.

Consent

R

Indicates what type of consent is required for a student to enroll in this course.

    Possible values are None (N), Department (D), or Instructor (I).

Schd Print

O

Indicates whether or not the class section is to be included in the printed Schedule of Classes.

    A checked box indicates that the class is to be printed in the Schedule of Classes.

5.       As required, complete/review the following fields:

Enrl Cap

O

Enrollment Capacity:  The current number of students permitted to enroll in this class section.

Wait Cap

Waitlist Capacity:  The current number of students permitted to be added to the waitlist once the Enrollment Capacity has been reached.

Min Enrl

O

Indicates the minimum enrollment value assigned to the class.

    There is no functionality tied to this value.  At some point this could be useful for reporting purposes.

Result

You have successfully reviewed or modified data about one or more sections of a given course.

Comments

This area is useful when changes need to be made across more than one section.  If changes only need to be made to one section, then those changes could be made in the Schedule of Classes area.
