Disabling Web Browser Pop-up Blockers
iSIS requires that your web browser is configured to allow pop-ups in order to function correctly. Often web browsers will default or be configured to block pop-ups from automatically appearing on your screen. Instructions for the most popular web browsers are provided below.
Chrome
Google Chrome prevents pop-ups from automatically appearing and cluttering your screen.
Whenever the browser blocks pop-ups for a site, the
icon appears in the address bar. Click the icon to see the pop-ups that have been
blocked or to manage pop-up settings for the site.
To See pop-ups for a specific site
- If pop-ups have been blocked, you'll see the
icon in the address bar. Click the icon to see a list of the blocked pop-ups.
- Click the link for the pop-up window that you'd like to see.
- To always see pop-ups for the site, select Always show pop-ups from [site]. The site will be added to the exceptions list, which you can manage in the Content Settings dialog.
To Manually Allow pop-ups from a site
- Click the wrench icon
on the browser toolbar.
- Select Settings.
- Click Show advanced settings.
- In the Privacy section, click the Content settings button.
- In the Pop-ups section, click Manage exceptions.
To Allow all pop-ups
- Click the wrench icon
on the browser toolbar.
- Select Settings.
- Click Show advanced settings... at the bottom of the page.
- In the Privacy section, click the Content settings button.
- In the Pop-ups section, select Allow all sites to show pop-ups. Customize permissions for specific websites by clicking Manage exceptions.
Internet Explorer 8 and 9
The Pop-up Blocker is turned on in Internet Explorer by default. To change its current state, follow these steps:
- Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button
, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
- Click Tools, and then click Pop-up Blocker.
- Do one of the following:
- To turn off Pop-up Blocker, click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
- To turn on Pop-up Blocker, click Turn On Pop-up Blocker.

- To turn off Pop-up Blocker, click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
Internet Explorer 10
The Pop-up blocker is turned on in Internet Explorer by default. To change its current state, follow these steps:
- At the start screen (Metro or Modern interface) type control panel and press Enter.
- The start page will disappear and you will be taken to the Desktop with the Control Panel application active.
- Select Internet Options
- Select the Privacy tab
- Either
- Deselect Turn on Pop-up Blocker
or - Select Pop-up Blocker Settings and enter the URLs of the web sites you want to allow pop-ups from. For iSIS enter:
- Select Apply
- Deselect Turn on Pop-up Blocker
- Close the Internet Properties dialog box
- Close the Control Panel
- Press the Windows key to return to the Start page.
FireFox 8
To access the pop-up blocker settings:
- On a Mac, click the button on the top left bar and then click
- Select the panel.

In the content panel:- Block pop-up windows: Uncheck this to disable the pop-up blocker altogether.
- Exceptions: This is a list of sites that you want to allow to display pop-ups.

The dialog has the following choices:- Allow: Click this to add a website to the exceptions list.
- Remove Site: Click this to remove a website from the exceptions list.
- Remove All Sites: Click this to remove all of the websites in the exceptions list.
- Block pop-up windows: Uncheck this to disable the pop-up blocker altogether.
Safari
You can disable Safari’s popup blocker in two steps:
- While your browser is open, just click on the Safari menu at the top left of your screen.
- In the drop-down menu, uncheck Block Pop-Up Windows.
