iSIS is Kansas State University's student information system. The system manages all aspects of the enrollment and maintenance of undergraduate and graduate students, from applying and enrolling in classes, to accessing grades and paying for tuition.
Online help information and instructions are available on the iSIS Help website.
iSIS Help is available from both the iSIS sign-in page as well as within the application. iSIS Help opens in a new window, so the current active session of iSIS will not end when navigating to the help section.
iSIS is set to sign students out after 10 minutes of inactivity. However, for security purposes, it is always important to sign yourself out by clicking the "sign out" link at the top of the page.
The MarketPlace is accessible from within iSIS.
Follow the instructions for Change Your Address in iSIS found on the iSIS Help website.
Your advisor is listed in your Student Center in iSIS.
In iSIS, advisors can see a list of advisees associated with him/her and are able to access necessary student information. Advisors are also able to access necessary student information for any student to support walk-ins.
The DARS report (called a Degree Progress report in iSIS) is viewable and printable within iSIS. For details on viewing the Degree Progress Report, see View Degree Progress on the iSIS Help website. Use your browser's print functionality to print the Degree Progress report.
No, your Wildcat ID # (or WID), which is found in the upper left-hand area of your Wildcat ID card, is used as your student identifying number on class rosters. This is a 9-digit number that always begins with an "8".
Your program and plan (major), which includes an identifier of graduate or undergraduate, is listed on the class roster. For example, "BA Undergraduate Degree - Mgmt Information Systems-B", is listed in the Program and Plan column. When you enroll, you select the appropriate "Career" of Graduate or Undergraduate for the class in question.
All course and class requirements are enforced. Some prerequisites may automatically block students from enrolling in a class if the prerequisite is not met. Others will be manually monitored. Students and faculty will need to check in both iSIS and the University catalog to determine course prerequisites.
Current enrollments are considered as having been completed satisfactorily when you enroll for a subsequent term, so yes, you will be able to enroll in the next course. However, if you fail the current term prerequisite course, the course will be dropped from your future schedule.
In your iSIS Student Center, you can see the date and time of your enrollment availability, located on the right-hand side of the page under "Enrollment Dates". Click on the "details" link for specific information.
The Class Search feature has several different search criteria available including the ability to search by Location (Manhattan, Salina, Manhattan DCE, or Salina DCE) and Mode of Instruction (In Person, Web, Telnet, Video, etc.) The locations of Manhattan DCE and Salina DCE denote classes that are offered through the Division of Continuing Education. These Class Details as well as the Class Meeting room are available to view for each class. For details on searching for classes in iSIS, see Search for Classes on the iSIS Help website.
You enroll in those classes in the same manner that you enroll in on-campus courses within iSIS.
Contact the instructor for the class. The instructor may then grant the permission. Once the permission has been entered in iSIS by the instructor’s department, you will be able to add the class to your schedule, assuming other enrollment requirements have been met and there is space available in the class.
The application for graduation is found in the Student Center. For details on applying for graduation, see Applying for Graduation on the iSIS Help website.
Background information on the development of the K-State 8 requirements and detailed information about the requirements themselves can be found at the K-State 8 website.
Advisors and students can run DARS reports under both the K-State 8 and UGE requirements and use these to compare the remaining requirements left unmet.
Students and their advisors should determine which set of general education requirements will work best for each student. If it is deemed beneficial for the student change to the K-State 8 requirements, then the advisor should remove the UGE service inidicator in iSIS.
Students who are readmitted in Summer 2011 and later will be designated as meeting the K-State 8 by the Office of Admissions. Deans' offices can make an exception for the readmitted student who has completed UGE or who would prefer to complete UGE requirements.
There is no published list of classes that fulfill each of the K-State 8 content areas. However, the Class Search in iSIS allows you to search for classes based on the K-State 8 content areas. Also, the online course schedule will identify which K-State 8 category each course satisfies.
If a course is identified with two K-State 8 topics, the class will satisfy BOTH topics.
All students still following the UGE requirements will have a "notice" in their Student Center labeled University General Education. This notice will also appear in the Student Services Center main tab and in the Student Details within the Advisor Center. Additionally, when in the DARS Request page, there is an indication to the left of the Submit Report button indicating either UGE of KSTATE8.
