International Admissions has three scholarships to offer to new undergraduate degree-seeking international students (both freshman and transfer). If you are an international student admitted to an undergraduate degree program at K-State, we welcome your scholarship application!
Self-sponsored (or family-sponsored) students paying non-resident tuition receive priority for these scholarships. Also, scholarships are granted first to Fall semester admitted students and remaining scholarships are granted to Spring semester admitted students.
Please read below for details on the three scholarships and how to apply for them.
International Merit Scholarship
The International Merit Scholarship recognizes incoming undergraduate international students who demonstrate high previous academic achievement and potential to excel at K-State. Thirty (30) incoming students receive this award per academic year, ranging in value from $4,000 to $7,500 per student.
Global Diversity Scholarship
The Global Diversity Scholarship promotes diversity in the K-State international undergraduate student body. Twenty (20) incoming students receive this $2,000 award per academic year.
Alumni Association International Student Scholarship
The Alumni Association International Student Scholarship supports students who will contribute both during their time at K-State and after graduation as K-State alumni. Five (5) incoming students receive this $1,000 award in the Fall semester.
How to Apply for Scholarships
All admitted degree-seeking international undergraduate students may apply for these scholarships. If you apply, you will be automatically considered for, and could receive, all three awards.
To apply for scholarship consideration, please submit a personal statement via email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than the application deadline listed below. Please include your full name as written on your passport and your Wildcat ID (WID) as listed on your admission letter.
The personal statement should be no more than 500 words and answer the question: "What will you contribute to the K-State Family as a student?" While the statement should be in English, your proficiency level will not be a factor in your consideration.
The chart below gives the dates for deadlines, award notification and acceptance. Students must confirm acceptance of any scholarship awards and intent to attend Kansas State University.

Any awarded scholarships will be placed into a student's K-State financial account only after arrival and enrollment in full-time classes. These awards are granted one-time, in the first semester of enrollment at K-State, and not are renewable. Awarded scholarships may not be deferred to future semesters.
