Leaving K-State? Put IT tasks on To Do list
by B. Edwards, Computing and Network Services
published May 2, 2006
When students graduate or leave -- and individuals terminate employment at K-State -- their IT privileges are changed.
The Top Five list of IT tasks to do before leaving are
- Forward your e-mail to a non-K-State account.
- Unsubscribe from mailing lists you don't want (and for those you need, resubscribe from a new e-mail address).
- Copy any files you want to keep, including personal webpages and e-mail folders.
- Remove software received under a K-State site license or volume-purchase agreement
(such as antivirus software).
- If you live in a residence hall, reset your computer to Microsoft's Windows Update Service.
See Preparing to Leave K-State
for details and frequently asked questions.
