Campus Ethernet cable cut during maintenance June 16
by the editors, InfoTech Tuesday
published June 21, 2005
In preparation for steampipe removal and replacement last Thursday, June 16, some of K-State's Ethernet cable
was inadvertently cut, including some single-mode and multi-mode cable.
This cabling provided connectivity to the south end of campus. As a result, Anderson, Calvin, Fairchild,
Holtz, McCain, Nichols, and Thompson halls were without network connectivity for parts of Thursday.
K-State Telecommunications and Southwestern Bell worked through the evening hours Thursday to
restore multi-mode connectivity to those buildings by 10 p.m. Single-mode connectivity
was restored on Friday.
