Virtual Private Network

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is the technology that allows remote users to gain access to Private Enterprise Network resources in authenticated and encrypted manners over the Internet. It provides a secure "tunnel" between the software client and VPN server to ensure the data integrity and confidentiality.

Using the VPN service, any K-State student or employee with a valid eID can

  • Access the university's network resources in a secure manner over the public network (Internet).
  • Access all campus resources that are restricted with K-State's IP address range (129.130.x.x).

VPN service cannot be used on campus or via K-State's dial-in service. Dial-in customers and those with campus network connections already have a K-State IP address. See the related FAQ.
