As a developer for K-State Research & Extension (KSRE-IT) Gamage Dissanayake works on projects which impact all of KSRE. His products have been said to “materialize out of nowhere, operate flawlessly, and enhance the working environment.” He is able to meet with many people in a team meeting and see a solution which pulls all of the ideas together.

He describes himself as a team player. His team has developed a reporting system, planning system and a performance review system used by every extension agent and specialist in the state. A project for the Beef Cattle Institute will be used to certify 700,000 individuals over three years. The success of his projects is reflected by his insistence on feedback loops, practice runs and piloting runs with various audiences before the release of a product.
