E-mail client configuration

If you use another e-mail client (such as Thunderbird or Pegasus) to view your e-mail, follow these recommendations:

Configuring e-mail clients

Supported e-mail clients configuration details

E-mail client accounts

You should create a new account for K-State Zimbra since there are less issues and you won't have to resubscribe to your folders.

Security settings

TLS and SSL are both supported.

Filters and folders

Any existing filters that you have setup will not work with K-State Zimbra. The K-State Zimbra folder structure is a little different. Therefore, you will have to edit your filters.

Recreate your filters using the K-State Zimbra web client

If you re-create your filters in the K-State Zimba web client, you will find that your filters are server based and will be effective regardless of how you access your e-mail. This means that you could use a mobile device, local client, and web client and only have one set of filters if they are created at the server level in the K-State Zimbra web client rather than in another e-mail client.

Local mail folders or address books

Any local mail folders or address books will not be effected.

Calendar

K-State Oracle Calendar is still the official K-State calendar until Zimbra calendar is implemented at a later date.

Mailing Lists

Mailing lists are still maintained through listserv.
