Configuring Outlook 2007
Note: If you currently use Outlook 2007 to read
your K-State e-mail, it's recommended you
create a new account rather
than edit an existing one.
- On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
- On the E-mail tab, click New.
- Click the Manually configure
server settings or additional server types check box and then click
Next.
- Under Choose E-mail Service, click the Internet
E-mail option and
then click Next.
- In the Your Name box,
type your name.
Note: This is an illustration of IMAP
settings. POP settings will vary slightly.
- In the E-mail Address box,
type your K-State e-mail address.
- On the Account Type list, select either IMAP
or POP.
- Follow the instructions below for the type of server you chose on
the Account Type list:
- IMAP: In the Incoming mail server box,
type pilotimap.k-state.edu.
- POP: In the Incoming mail server box,
type pilotpop.k-state.edu.
- In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type pilotauth.smtp.k-state.edu.
- In the User Name box type your eID.
- In the Password box, type your password.
- Click the More Settings button.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab.
- Click the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication check box.
- Click the Use same settings as my incoming mail
server option.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Incoming server,
click the This server requires
an encrypted connection (SSL) check box.
Note: This is an illustration of IMAP
settings. POP settings will display the POP server type and
the POP port number which is 995.
- Under Outgoing server, click the
This server requires an encrypted connection
(SSL) check box and then click OK.
- Click Next and then click Finish.
