Configuring Mac Mail 3.5 for OS X

Note: If you currently use Mac Mail to read your K-State e-mail, it's recommended you create a new account rather than edit an existing one.

  1. On the Mail menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click the Create an Account button Image of Create an Account button to create a new account.
  3. In the Full Name box, type your name.
  4. In the Email Address box, type your K-State e-mail address.
  5. In the Password box, type your eID password and then click Continue.
  6. On the Account Type list, select either IMAP or POP.
  7. In the Account Description box, type a description of the account.
  8. Follow the instructions below for the type of server you chose on the Account Type list:
    • IMAP: In the Incoming Mail Server box, type pilotimap.k-state.edu.
    • POP: In the Incoming Mail Server box, type pilotpop.k-state.edu.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. In the Outgoing Mail Server box, type pilotauth.smtp.k-state.edu.
  11. Click the Use Authentication check box.
  12. In the User Name box type your eID, if it is not already there.
  13. In the Password box type your password, if it is not already there, and then click Continue.
  14. You will be presented with a summary of your account. Confirm everything is correct and then click Done.
