Dial-in

K-State Computing and Telecommunications Services provides dial-in Internet services for K-State students, faculty and staff.  All Telecom modems are 56K V.92 but we support modem speeds from 9600 bps to 56K.  See the Getting Connected page for information about obtaining a dial-in account or setting up your dial-in services.

Almost any computer can do Dial-in. But if you want to access the Internet or get http enabled e-mail, you will need a computer with a clock speed of 233 Mhz or higher, 128 megabytes RAM, and Windows XP.

Note: K-State does not allow computers utilizing the following operating systems to access the K-State Network: Windows 3.1, 95, NT, 98, 98 Second Edition, or ME.

Computer and Network Services scans and monitors the K-State network, if your computer is detected on the network without a current Anti-virus program, without the necessary operating system patches, or if viruses/malware/spyware are detected on your computer, or if your computer is doing port scanning, or performing some other action not in compliance with K-State policy your dial-in access will be terminated without further notice.
