Background: Kansas State University increasingly relies on information technology to serve the teaching, administrative, research, and communications needs of the university. It is essential that major central information system projects are prioritized to meet university objectives, implemented cost effectively, and reviewed and evaluated periodically. CMIS provides a forum for discussing the prioritization and implementation of central management information systems projects from a university-wide perspective. |

Membership: The Committee consists of eight voting and five non-voting members on the basis indicated below. The Vice President of Administration and Finance appoints a chairperson from the voting membership. To ensure continuity, non-student voting members will serve staggered three-year terms. The student member will serve a one-year term. Voting Members:

| Scope: The Committee's focus is on major central management information systems projects. The Committee does not typically review or prioritize maintenance requests. Project requests that do not fall under the Committee's purview are prioritized by the appropriate person(s) in the administrative user offices. |
