Garrett Mann


Garrett Mann received his B.S. degree from Kansas State University from the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering in 2009 and his M.S. degree from Purdue University in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2011. He currently serves as Senior Research Engineer at the Institute for Environmental Research at Kansas State University. He has a broad background in instrumentation, data acquisition, controls and estimation, and test engineering. His expertise includes:

  • Calibrating and troubleshooting thermal sweating manikins
  • Maintaining eight environmental chambers
  • Designing and building new test systems
  • Developing new test procedures
  • Implementing control algorithms for test equipment
  • Analyzing and documenting experimental data
  • Managing and training undergraduate and graduate students 

Garrett also enjoys spending time with his wife, serving in his local church, and hiking in the Flint Hills.
