the Efficacy of Diverse Higher Education Academic Alliances Project Abstract During Year One, the project leaders will identify and orient collaborators and document need for proposed interinstitutional programs. They will develop programs, analyze and adjust institutional policies and practices, train participant teams including faculty, department heads, academic deans, graduate deans, chief financial officers, registrars, and continuing/distance education directors. In Year Two, the project will secure institutional approval for multi-institutional programs, establish practices to support multi-institutional programs, formalize the alliances. During Year Three, project leaders will finalize programs and admit students; develop alliance and institutional Internet access for prospective and current students; implement alliance data sharing, financial system, and implement practices to sustain the alliance and the program. An Institute for Academic Alliances will be established at Kansas State University. Findings from the project will be disseminated. Throughout the project, participants will receive consultation from the project staff, participate in training and planning meetings, and have access to online materials to support the development and implementation of multi-institutional programs. At the end of the project, each partner collaborative endeavor will have a sustainable multi-institutional program in place.
