Black Colleges and Universities have formed an alliance to offer an inter-institutional
distance education program in personal financial management:
Alabama A&M University
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
Fort Valley State University
University of Maryland Eastern Shore
North Carolina A&T State University
South Carolina State University
Southern University and A&M College
Tennessee State University
The Institute for Academic Alliances (IAA) has worked closely
with the 1890 FCS-DIA since its inception:
July 2005 - 1890 FCS-DIA institution administrators, continuing/distance
education directors, financial officers and registrars met to reach academic,
leadership, financial and management agreements to launch the online program.
September 2004 - three USDA Capacity Building Program grants
were awarded to 1890 FCS-DIA partners.
November 2003 - the Certified Financial Planning Board
of Standards (CFP Board) partnered with the IAA to support a meeting of 1890
administrators and faculty in November 2003.
