K-State employees who wish to make application to the CPM Program should:
An application for appointment to the Certified Public Manager Program may be obtained from the Division of Human Resources, Training at 785-532-6277.
Applicants selected to represent K-State will receive a letter of admission and an information packet from the KU Public Management Center in Topeka.
The cost to complete the program is $2,000 per candidate, paid by the sponsoring department. The fee covers tuition and materials.
The Certified Public Manager Program (CPM) provides managers at all levels of government a foundation of knowledge and skills in management practice.
The design of the CPM Program complies with guidelines and standards established by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium and its curriculum requirements. Graduates of the program are eligible for membership in the American Academy of Certified Public Managers.
Candidates attend classes in 24-hour blocks once per month (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) for 12 months, a total of 288 contact hours. The topics covered include the following:
