Pay Plan Information for FY 2013

The Kansas Legislature approved the fourth year for Under-Market Pay increases for Classified Employees which were given to employees in various classifications in FY 2009, FY 2010, and FY 2011. The pay increase became effective September 16, 2012. The pay increase was given to employees in some of the classifications which are the most underpaid compared to market rates and included some classifications from all of the three employee groups as defined in the State of Kansas New Pay Plan

Approximately 95 employees at Kansas State University in these job codes (pdf) received a 5% increase which was implemented through an increase of one pay grade on the classified salary scale (pdf). The employee's step did not change. (Example: An accounting specialist at pay grade 19/step 6 moved to pay grade 20/step 6.) Employees in these job codes will also receive a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of 25% of the annualized market pay increase. This lump sum will be paid on the October 12, 2012 pay advice using the earnings code of PRA. Division of Human Resources will manage the lump sum process.
