HR Closed During Holiday Break
The Division of Human Resources will be closed during the holiday break, beginning Monday, December 25, 2006 through Monday, January 1, 2007.

December 29, 2006 Paycheck
The December 29, 2006 paycheck is the third paycheck in the month.  Therefore, premiums for group health insurance, KPERS optional group life insurance, TEA life insurance and contributions to the KanElect flexible spending accounts will not be deducted from this paycheck.  Additionally, 12-month unclassified employees do not earn an 8-hour vacation day for the pay period December 3, 2006 through December 16, 2006, paid December 29, 2006.  Also, unclassified employees appointed to less than 12-month non-instructional positions do not earn vacation leave for this same pay period.

GTA/GRA Health Insurance
As you hire or reappoint graduate teaching assistants and/or graduate research assistants for the Spring 2007 semester please advise each student about the available GTA/GRA health insurance plan.  Persons appointed at least .5 FTE for the semester as a graduate teaching assistant or graduate research assistant are eligible to participate in the health insurance plan.

Graduate teaching assistants or graduate research assistants who receive a “renewal premium notice” from Student Resources are to return it, along with the semester premium payment, to the Division of Human Resources, 103 Edwards Hall, by January 31, 2007.  Also, GTA/GRA health insurance booklets and enrollment forms are available from the Division of Human Resources, 103 Edwards Hall.

The Spring 2007 open enrollment period is January 1 – 31, 2007.

The employer contribution rate for the Spring 2007 semester is $261.00.  The GTA/GRA rate for the Spring 2007 semester is $87.00 for single coverage.
