Beginning with the pay period ending December 12, 2009 … paid December 24, 2009, employees will be able to view, save and print pay advice details via Employee Self Service. This information will appear as a PDF file and will look very much like the pay advice currently being received via U.S. Postal Service.
Beginning with the pay period ending January 23, 2010 … paid February 5, 2010, Employee Self Service will be the only way to view paycheck/pay advice details. Employees will no longer receive a pay advice via U.S. Postal Service. Pay advice/Pay check details are normally available via Employee Self Service a week prior to pay day.
To assist with answering questions, department personnel specialists have access to view their employee's paycheck/pay advice data exactly how the employee sees it in Employee Self Service. Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Produce Payroll > Review Self Service Paycheck

Department personnel specialists or timekeepers are required to complete a brief on-line H1N1 flu survey each pay period when reporting the hours worked and/or leave used in HRIS. The survey must be completed whether your department has employees out with the flu or not. All data compiled will be general and not connected personally to any employee. Nominations are now being accepted by Human Resources for a new award, the "K-State Classified Award of Excellence". This new award program is described at: http://www.k-state.edu/hr/ped/classified-award-excellence.html and the nomination form is available at that same location. Nominations are due by January 22, 2010. This new award program is in addition to the Departmental Classified Employee of the Year program. Any faculty, administrator, or staff member may nominate a classified employee for this award. For the fall 2009 semester, the last day of employment for graduating students is Friday, December 18, 2009. Students not graduating and not enrolled for the spring semester may be employed through January 13, 2010. To employ them beyond these dates, they must be put on a different type of appointment. New students for the spring semester may begin employment January 10, 2010. Information on current payroll and employment dates can be found Important Payroll and Employment Dates.
The Position Funding by Department Report provides vacant and filled position details and is an excellent tool for tracking positions. In addition to paid positions/employees, the ability now exists to include non-employee/non-paid positions (i.e., adjunct positions/affiliated positions/contingent workers) within the report. A check box labeled Non-Employees has been added to the report request parameters page. When this check box is turned on … nonemployee positions will display within the report … Hourly/Annual Rate column will indicate 0.00 for these positions. The HRIS Report Register has been created to provide a comprehensive list of reports. This Microsoft Excel spreadsheet includes six worksheets (i.e., Funding and Payroll Reports, KSU Annual Budget Reports, Other Reports, Service Code Reports, Summer School Reports and Time and Leave Reports). An alphabetical report list appears within each worksheet and for each report there is a brief description of the report and the path to the report. The Payroll Summary by Department Report parameters page now includes radio buttons for selecting on-cycle, off-cycle or both on-cycle and off-cycle data within the report. This report provides a summary of hours worked, overtime paid, leave hours, total hours paid, gross pay, etc. for each employee within the selected department for the pay period. Path: Time and Leave > Reports > Time Reports > Payroll Summary by Department.
Time documents are now available for the pay periods ending 12/26/2009 and 01/09/2010.
