eID Privileges
Personnel specialists who have granted temporary access privileges to potential or temporary employees who have not eventually been hired or are only hired on a short term basis, remember to remove their access by signing into K-State’s eID page, select “(enter)” under “Administrative Functions: Grant privileges to a preliminary employee.” Anyone listed under “Existing Preliminary Employee Grants”, who should not have access to our systems, will need to have access privileges removed by selecting “(delete)” by the names of those individuals. If you have questions, please contact the K-State IT Help Desk at (785) 532-7722. Instructions for deleting privileges may be found at: http://www.ksu.edu/hr/hrisuser.htm

HRIS Schedule and Paycheck Date Change
Final pay calculation will run Monday, December 20, at 5:00 p.m. for the pay period ending 12/18/04. HRIS Schedule may be found at: http://www.ksu.edu/hr/hris/hris_calendar.html Additionally, the last paycheck date in December is 12/30/04, instead of 12/31/04, as previously indicated on our pay cards and Bi-weekly pay periods and pay dates web page.

2004 and 2005 Discretionary Days
The last day an employee may use their 2004 Discretionary Day is Saturday, January 1, 2005. Please note that this information differs from that reported in the August holiday letter. The 2005 Discretionary Day cannot be used until January 2, 2005. Please inform your employees of this change.

Employment Year End Postings
Employment Services will post the final vacancy listing for the year on December 22, 2004. Please submit your requests for recruitment as soon as possible.

Positions posted on December 14^th will close on December 23, 2004. Advertisements will be placed in the Manhattan Mercury and Junction City Daily Union newspapers on Sunday, December 19^th.

Positions posting on December 21^st will have a closing date of January 6, 2005. Advertisements will be placed on Sunday, January 2, 2005. There will not be a vacancy list updated on Tuesday, December 28, 2004.

HR Closed During Holiday Break
The Division of Human Resources will be closed during the holiday break, December 24, 2004 through January 2, 2005.

December 30 Paycheck
December 30, 2004 is the payday in which we receive a third paycheck in the month of December. Premiums for group health insurance, KPERS Optional Group Life Insurance, TEA Life Insurance and contributions to the KanElect Flexible Spending Accounts will not be deducted from this third paycheck. Additionally, 12-month unclassified employees do not earn an 8 hour vacation day for the pay period December 5 through December 18, paid December 30, 2004.
