The Division of Personnel Service, Kansas Department of
Administration,
has advised that the Fall 2003 open enrollment period for GTA/GRA
health insurance has been extended to September 9, 2003.

Minnesota Life Insurance Company - 2003 Benefits Fair
The Division of Human Resources has arranged for a representative from
Minnesota Life Insurance Company to make a life insurance presentation at
the Benefits Fair on October 1, 2003. This presentation will highlight
the recent changes to our basic term life insurance and supplemental life
insurance plans offered to all employees by the Kansas Public Employees
Retirement System (KPERS). Exact times and locations will be featured in
the Benefits Fair flyer to be published in September and in a memorandum
accompanying the health insurance open enrollment materials.
This presentation is in addition to those scheduled in Manhattan on September 8, 2003 (see HR Newsletter of August 15, 2003).

Help Desk: New Name, E-mail, Hours
The new name is now official -- the K-State IT Help Desk. The official
e-mail address is now helpdesk@ksu.edu (the well-known
consult@ksu.edu will route to the new address).
The K-State IT Help Desk provides support for issues pertaining to the
Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and also provides support on
issues pertaining to desktop security, K-State eID and associated
password, e-mail concerns and software viruses.
The K-State IT Help Desk has extended hours of operation. Walk-in support is the same as Hale Library's hours. Phone and e-mail support is 7 a.m.-midnight Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-10 p.m. Sunday.

Password)
Thank you for assisting new employees with creating their
K-State eID and password. This process has gone well thanks to
all of YOU. Most snags occur when an employee doesn't complete
the K-State Affiliation step in the process or when the e-mail
address is incorrect on the appointment form. The K-State
Affiliation step begins on page 11 of the K-State eID-New Employee
Registration instructions found on the following Web page:
